Halloween Memories..... and Grandpa!

First of all Grandpa: Grandpa is doing so much better! I went down on Friday to visit with grandpa and grammie and ended up staying the night with gram. Grandpa looks so much better than he did a couple of weeks ago when we went to visit at his house. He has very good color now and acts just like our dear loved old grandpa! :) The next morning when Grammie and I went in he was doing very well again. The doc came in not long after and told us that Grandpas kidney function was starting to improve and that they were going to wait the weekend and then on monday do his Angiogram. Hopefully Tuesday he will be able to get the surgery and be on his way to a healthier heart and lots more years of life.:)

Halloween Memories:

I dont have a very good memory at all, so bear with me...

* I remember when I was young I was kind of a tomboy so for like 3 halloweens I was an evil vampriss..... i still have that costume by the way. ( I think...... mom do we still have that costume? )

* We lived clear out in the boonies in a tiny rancher community called Lonetree, so Trick-r-treating was not just simply walking door to door and collecting as much candy as possible. We had to drive miles and miles from one house to the other.... it was lots of fun!! After we trick-r-treated in Lonetree we would head into the Valley and go to the rest of our familys houses and a couple of the ward members houses.

* I always wanted to be a Jeanie, but i never did..... the only way that I knew to be a jeanie was a 2 piece costume and I wasnt allowed to wear those. PLUS I was a chunky little girl, so even if i could I wouldn't have:)

Cammy is gone...... now what?

Well we took Cameran home on Friday! Yes it was AWFUL!!! It just gets harder and harder every time we take her back to Colorado! I was strong the whole way there and back from Colorado, but when I finally got home and had some alone time I found myself crying a little bit. the first thing I did when I got home was let the critters out to play, and even they were looking for that shining little girl, but no luck. Next line of business was to get out the cleaner and clean up all those milk stains off the carpent again. Thats when it really hit me that she was gone once again! Then this morning I woke up expecting Daddy and Cam to be sneaking in any minute to wake me up...... but then I realized she was gone. :( Geez!!!

This visit was so much fun!!!! Cam is just too cute!! She is talking so so great, however there were some words that we just couldnt understand. It was so funny because she would try to tell us something that we jsut couldnt make out and she would get frustrated and roll her head and eyes, and say "Da-a-ad, Mo-o-om" and then repeat the word. It was so stinking funny, we just couldnt help but laugh!

Kids....Ferrets... and Cleaners!! :0

It all started bright and early this morning, I had just fallen asleep when Brian burst into the room with a soaking wet Jayda in his arms, telling me that Cameran has been spraying the Ferrets with carpet cleaner. Panicked and surprised, I jumped out of bed and grabbed Jayda and ran to the bath tub to wash her off. Brian headed back upstairs to get Taz and brought him down too. I spent quite a while washing off my poor little frightened ferrets with Brian standing over my shoulder as nervous as me making sure they were ok. Next matter of buisness was to talk to the 3 year old little girl waiting upstairs...... Well obviously we are not parents year round so this was quite hard for us. Brian had told her what she did wrong and taken all the chemicals and put them away up high so she couldnt reach them. When I walked up the stairs to talk to her she looked so sad and a little bit scared. (the scared look tore my heart out!) So trying to regain my composure I made sure I didnt look mad and asked Cameran to come over and talk to me. Gosh that was the hardest talk I have ever had to have with her. She felt so so bad for what she had done but at the same time Brian and I both knew it was partially our faults too. We have a spray that we use on the ferrets to make them smell all nice and fresh, and use on them daily. Cameran had seen us spraying them down a couple times, so to her she wasnt doing anything wrong. Unfortunately she ended up picking up the carpet cleaner instead of the ferret freshner.
Well onto the ferrets..... they seemed to be doing ok after they were all washed and dryed off, until about an hour later when I noticed Jayda standing with her eyes half closed and kinda losing her balance. We put the ferrets in their cage in hopes of them sleeping and feeling a little bit better. I ended up heading back to bed ( i had just come off a graveyard shift) and slept until about 4. When I got up I went to check on the ferrets too see if they were still doing ok. Unfortunately they were not. They both wouldnt open their eyes all the way and did not want to wake up. Brians parents came over to visit and that was when I absolutely broke down bawling. Thank goodness Lisa was there, she is such a great help!! We called the vet and he told me that the ferrets had probably been poisoned from the cleaner getting in through their eyes and mouth. He told me that there was a good chance that it could be fatal to both of them and to keep a close eye on them for 24 hours. He said to make sure they were eating and drinking and hopefully it would metabolize and move out of their systems. Again thank goodness Lisa was there!!! (she is wonderful:))
We have been getting them out once an hour and making them at least drink water. They have been very droopy and still having problems with their eyes. They can still see though. I walked into the room once and Jayda was eating, and Taz had just had a good dose of water so that was a good sign. Brian called me at work just a little while ago and said that he got them out and they were very active and wanting to play so hopefully that stays the same also and they have gotten all that stuff outta their system. :)
That was our HUGE lesson for the week!!!

Pics of Brians Elk!!

Here are some pics of Brian's Elk from this year!! It scored 273 Pope and Young. He was so excited to get this one as you can tell.... look at that cute smile!! :)

This is when they found the Elk. Brians friend Ty called it in. Brian made the shot at 40 yards.

The toughest job of all, and thats packing the darn thing out!!! he had quite the job ahead of him. it took part of the night and a good part of the next morning to pack it out.

Sorry, people, I tend to post like 2-3 blogs in a night, so sorry if you dont like reading so many :)

Cameran is Home!

This has been a fun week so far, we have Cameran for 2 weeks!! She is a little bundle of joy!! She was so excited to come visit this time, she kept telling her mom how excited she was to see her Daddy Brian and Mommy Kristie! She has gotten soooo big, and oh boy can she talk, she is a little jabber jaws!! On the way home I was telling her that we have ferrets at home that she can play with…. Well when we got there that quickly changed from “the” ferrets to “her” ferrets. We will be in the living room watching T.V. or playing around or whatever we are doing at the time, and Cameran will hear the bells on either Taz or Jayda, and will stop whatever she is doing and run in the room and see if they are awake to play with her. Thank goodness Taz is such a gentle little guy…. Cameran and him are best buddies. She carries him all over the house in the most awkward positions ever, the little guy just lets her do whatever and absolutely loves it! Jayda is a lot more wild that Taz and won’t stay still long enough for cameran to hold her for very long.

The first day we had cameran home with us we woke up at 5:30 in the morning and went out hunting. Cameran didn’t fuss at all, she woke up happy and couldn’t wait to go see the deer. She was my little good luck charm…. Not even 30 minutes after we got to where we were gonna hunt at we spotted a 2 point buck and I got him on the first shot. Cameran was hardly phased at all, she just wanted to pet the deer. When we got down to him and were getting ready to dress him out that’s when she got a little skeptical. She wasn’t sure whatto think about it being dead and bleeding. She ended up spotting a huge frog by the river and spent her time trying to catch that while Brian and I gutted out the deer. You wanna talk about a happy daddy, Brian was in 7th heaven having his daughter out hunting with him!! I have a bunch of pics, but we are still working on filling the camera the whole way and getting the film developed. We both forgot that Cameran rarely sleeps in her own bed, she always ends up in bed with us. J The first night we all fell asleep in our room, and kept rolling over onto the poor girl, she just pushed us off and fell right back to sleep J She is used to sleeping with her little brother at home in Colorado. The 2nd Brian took her to her own bed and later that morning rolled over only to find her sleeping right next to him. Ha ha, he just laughed J She is looking more and more like her daddy every time we see her. Gotta love the Grisham look don’t ya J haha! Here are some pics of Cameran and the ferrets, and her riding horses with Aunty Ashley!

Holding both Taz and Jayda! Jayda is trying to escape!! (the one with her paw in the air)
