The Stanley Hotel!:) Spanish for Dispatchers Training!

The trip to Estes Park, Colorado was an amazing trip to say the very least! One of my co-workers, Jackie, and I went to Colorado for dispatch training. The class was located at the Stanley Hotel. For those of you who haven't heard of it, it is the place where Steven King's, the Shining was filmed! This place is super haunted! We were in class for 2 days learning some basic Spanish and memorizing our hearts out. I can understand some of what is being said to me now but I cant speak it back. unfortunately I need to practice speaking the language back to people cuz that is the only way it will do me any good in dispatch. It is difficult to do because in Spanish they say things kinda opposite of us. However with a little bit of time, patience, and practice I am sure to catch on. :)
The stay in the hotel was very interesting. to be totally honest I have a kind of love hate relationship with the place. I LOVE the architecture, the design, the oldness, and all the history behind the place. I don't love the constant feeling of another presence, and the restless sleepless nights. I know that LOTS of people do not believe in ghosts or spirits, whether its a religious belief or just someones made up mind to not believe it. Some people need proof to believe, and that proof is never good enough until they have had it for them self. So the pictures I am about to show you are proof but probably not enough proof for some people. I also have to add that I am in no way shape or form trying to make anyone believe in ghosts, so don't feel that way :) (ASHLEY) haha!:) jk!

Also I should add that since i don't have the patience to put the pics in order of events or next to similar related ones I will be skipping around alot. When I upload the pics onto blogger it flips everything around from the way that I uploaded them and in turn I get confused and hate to copy and paste it all :) SO here is the out of order trip!:)

This 1st pic is of the room that Jackie and I stayed in. you will see a door with a mirror on it, this door has a story! When Jackie and I first got into the room we started putting things away and hanging some of our clothes. Jackie opened this closet and hung a few things up, then went to close the door and it wouldn't close! We looked at if funny for a few minutes trying to figure out what was going on. After a few minutes of looking we noticed that the deadbolt beneath the knob has been turned out and was preventing us from closing the door. Jackie said the she didn't remember turning out the deadbolt, and I had hardly touched the door at all. when turning the deadbolt back in it was quite difficult. That was just an odd happening that made us both a little eery. :)

This is a pic of an Elk standing not far away from the hotel!:) You can also see some of Estes Park. I will one day live in Estes Park CO!

This is the room we had our class in. Our class was in the next building over from the main hotel. The building is called the Manor House. The manor house also has rooms in it that people stay in.

This is the wonderful Coffee Shop!! Jackie LIVES on coffee, and I am not too far behind her. :) We spent quite a bit of our off time in here :)

This is a window that was next to my bed in our room :) It is SO beautiful!! Very nice to open in the morning and look at all that is going on below us. :)

The night of Monday the 5th we all decided to go ghost hunting. (All meaning most of the class) We started out by going into the tunnel below the hotel.

This is a pic of some orbs. Now I have to explain something. The big circle in the bottom left hand corner of a lot of these pics is unexplainable. While ghost hunting I had about 15-20 pics that have this same circle in it. The circle is not in any other pics except the ghost hunting ones. One explanation could be that I had a ghost/spirit/orb (whatever you want to call it) attach its self to my camera. I cant figure it out. Also in this pic if you look there is a smaller circle (orb) on the beam behind Elena! That is the ghosts/spirits! They show up as orbs in pics, they can be one of 3 colors, Red, Blue or the Clear'ish color you see.

These next 2 pics are in the Ballroom. They are taken from the Balcony. We would stand in total darkness and take random pics in hopes of capturing the ghosts. As you can see we succeeded. There are TONZ of orbs in this pic! Some more pronounced than the others.

As you can see this is a similar picture, taken shortly after the first one was taken. NO my camera lens is not dirty (ASHLEY!!) Notice the orbs are in different spots and there are different ones.

Here is a random out of place pic. This is a pic of Estes Park from the Front Deck of the Hotel. As I said before, I WILL one day live in Estes Park. It is a Mountain town. I LOVE IT!! :) SO BEAUTIFUL!!:)

This is in the Grand Dining room, also calle something else but i cant remember the name. There are a couple of Orbs in this pic. They were about 10-12 feet away from me.

This is part of the Tunnel under the hotel. If you look close on the upper right hand side you can see a few light orbs. This tunnel was quite spooky but I was surprisingly relaxed in there compared to other places we went. :)

These 2 pics are of the Lobby and entrance into the main hotel!
Beautiful huh!:)

Another beautiful lobby pic!: )

These 2 girlys are from Mississippi. The Blond on the right hand side is the instructor of the class. Laura the Blond, and Tina the Brunette! I LOVE these 2 girlys, they have the cutest accents ever!!:) Then they start speaking spanish with their accents and it is the funniest thing ever!!:) haha!

Another story!!:) Elena is a dispatcher for sweetwater county sheriffs office. Her and I work close together. Throughout the Whole time there this girl had weird experiences and as you will see in future pics the ghosts were very attracted to her. In this pic Elena was standing there talking to me and 3 other girls when she got a confused look on her face and started checking over her shoulder. She told us that she had just heard someone sneeze or cough In her ear righ behind her. honestly i though she was just trying to scare us a little, I so grabbed my camera and snapped a pic. WELL as you can see.... she was telling the truth!! That was an EERY feeling!!

Elena and her Ghostly admirers :) haha!:) I can see 3, and possibly a 4th one just a little closer to her head.

This is Steve. He took us through the underground tunnel. In his hand he is holding little ghost detectors. (I dont know the proper name for them) there are 3 lights on the detector, the bottom one is green and means safe, the middle one is also green and means caution, and the top one is red and means danger! Danger obviously means there is a ghost right there close. Well in this pic he was showing us how they work and the lights started going crazy and turning red. Well as you can tell in the pic there is a distinct blue orb by his head and a bunch of clear ones on his pants and next to him.

Another pic of the Ballroom ghosts :)

This is the front of the Stanley hotel.

This is the room number Jackie and I stayed in :)

Room 217... one of the most haunted rooms in the hotel. Where Steven King stayed and wrote the Shining! Got a little bit of and eerry feeling just standing outside the room. Didnt go in cuz there were people staying in the room :)
]
Up in the balcony of the ballroom. There are still orbs attached to Elena, and some on the wall. This was fun!!:)

In the basement of the ballroom. There was a hall a little further down and in that hall was a couple rooms. One of the rooms has a Ghost named Lucy in it. Lucy is or used to be a homeless person who snuck into the ballroom when she was alive and stayed the night there. Well she ended up freezing to death in that room and has since haunted it. Two girls that were with us went back to that room after we had all left trying to get pic of Lucy..... the stepped out of the room and the door started moving gently back and forth then slammed in their face! Thank goodness I wasnt there, I woulda been freaking out!! They were pretty excited that happened :) haha!

This is the room a little bit farther down the hall from lucys room. the tour guide is unlocking the door in this pic. After he unlocked the door he left it standing open adn came back up the hall to get us. When we went back the door had closed and locked again. He managed to get the door open, only after breaking his key! Whatever was in there sure didnt want us around.

This is another pic of the tunnel under the hotel....

An OLD beautiful car, it sits in the lobby of the hotel. Look really close and you can see a faint orb right above the car close to the celing.

This is the back of the Stanley!

This trip was a good lifetime experience.... I learned alot! Not only Spanish, but about the paranormal side of this world. Brian and I are going to go back sometime soon... not only to stay in the haunted hotel but to see Estes Park!
